Comes with 45 minute original session bonus track!
Honey Ride Me A Goat is an improvising rock trio of Jonny Shoults-drums, and Motney Slim and Michael Pike-guitars. In 2008, they joined up for an improvised session with another Kent resident, bassist Hugh Hopper, for what was originally planned as the first session that would go towards a vinyl release. 20 minutes of material was approved of by all parties, with the hopes that there would be at least one more session to come up with the rest of the material to make what was going to be a different and kick-ass album!
Unfortunately, due to Hugh's illness, this second session was not to be.
So, this new release includes the two pieces that were originally intended by the band and Hugh for the vinyl release, plus the original, unedited session that they came from. And while it has all of the imperfections that improvisation has, it's also very, very vibrant and - I think - really great, showcasing Hugh in a more 'out rock'/'stoner-space rock' context than he was usually heard in. Highly recommended by me, who misses Hugh very much.
